Jeffrey T. Libby
Jeff’s practice specializes in commercial real estate transactions in which he assists clients on a local and national basis in a wide array of development, ownership, management, financing, leasing and construction matters. Jeff primarily represents developers and owners in connection with site acquisition, due diligence, subdivision and platting, zoning and entitlements, financing, construction, leasing, management and asset disposition. Mr. Libby has represented institutional lenders on a national platform with respect to their commercial mortgage loan transactions. Jeff also represents landlords and tenants in lease negotiations, as well as assisting owners and contractors with their construction matters. For three of his over 25 years of legal practice, Jeff served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President for a commercial real estate developer, during which he handled every aspect of property acquisitions, development, construction, finance, leasing, management and dispositions, providing Jeff with “real world” experience that helps him relate to and advise his clients with an added depth of understanding.
Jeff graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1990 with a B.B.A in Real Estate and a B.A. in Philosophy. After working as a commercial tenant representative for two years, Mr. Libby returned to his alma mater to attend law school and received his J.D. from SMU in 1995. Jeff has been a licensed real estate broker with the Texas Real Estate Commission and is also affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers, Texas Bar Association, and The Real Estate Council. Mr. Libby is a proud graduate of Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas where he remains an active volunteer, especially with Jesuit's Adopt-A-Family Program, which he founded in 1992. In his spare time, Jeff loves to spend time with his family and make music; most Sundays he can be found playing drums at the contemporary service at St. Monica Catholic Church.
